THINKING ABOUT YOUR DRINKING?
Have you been experiencing consequences from over-doing it?
Have others commented that you should cut back?
Have you felt concerned about how much you are drinking?
If any of these apply to you, and you’re having a hard time cutting back on your own, consider coaching or psychotherapy to increase your motivation and develop strategies for change. I integrate a multi-disciplinary approach that includes Motivational Interviewing, behavioral interventions, and harm reduction to help people cut back or quit drinking.
Coaching for Those Thinking About Their Drinking
Coaching consists of an initial assessment of your current and past drinking, identifying your reasons for change, discussing guidelines of moderate drinking, and setting goals around alcohol intake. Next, the coaching process focuses on identifying obstacles to change and developing personalized strategies and skills-building. Sessions may be scheduled farther apart to allow opportunity to practice new behaviors. Additional sessions may be scheduled upon request.
